Location: Academy of Realist Art (ARA)
2968 Dundas St. West, near Keele

You may have heard about Founders College. The brainchild of Dr. Gary Hull, this new University is set to open its doors in Virginia in September, 2007.

"Founders is based on a revolutionary idea: A college education should be an integrated, logical whole that trains your mind to think clearly and incisively."

Three key members of FC's executive and staff will be in Toronto over the Easter weekend, and will give TOA members a sneak preview of what the College has in store for this fall.

Gary Hull, Ph.D.
Co-Founder, Founders College

What makes the Founders education the best in the world? Dr. Hull will discuss the elements of FC's distinctive approach for training students: unique content and how it differs from that of other colleges, the copyrighted curriculum, and the qualifications and training of faculty. Specific courses will be reviewed, including the manner in which classes build to provide an integrated body of liberal arts knowledge. Plus, there will be special discussion of a new Department of Fine Arts at Founders College and the many possible strategic relationships with the Academy of Realist Art.

Tamara Fuller
Co-Founder, Founders College

Ms. Fuller will offer a rare, inside look at the business and economic model behind a for-profit, liberal arts education. Discussion will include choice of location, business components and synergies, customer focus, branding and marketing strategies, talent and staffing, how the enterprise was financed, and real estate development plans.

Venue: Academy of Realist Art

The event will be hosted at Academy of Realist Art, 2968 Dundas Street West (second floor) in the Junction area of Toronto, on the evening of Saturday, April 7.

Note: When last year's TOA Anniversary Party took place at this location, the Academy was still under construction, with bare walls and dusty floors. It was completed shortly thereafter, and is now full of rich, vibrant paintings by its students, teachers and grads, as well as works in progress. So, in addition to the presentation on Founders (and refreshments), you will be treated to fuel for the spirit.

There is a Green-P parking lot at the southeast corner of Dudas & Pacific. TTC Directions: From Dundas West Station, catch the Junction 40 bus, get off at Pacific and Dundas (about 6 bus stops from Dundas West Station). Click here for a map to ARA.

“Our vision for Founders College has been in the planning for ten years. Through extensive research and content development, we offer a unique and rigorous integrated liberal arts curriculum that focuses on important ideas and their consequences. When presented in their logical order by experienced faculty with exemplary teaching abilities, our students will gain the critical thinking, writing and speaking skills possessed by the highest achievers and most valued by corporations and organizations.”
